RIETVALLEI WINE ESTATE

Stonedale is a trademark of the Rietvallei Wine Estate, a family-run business located in Robertson, a picturesque valley 160 km northeast of Cape Town. With its 215 hectares, of which 130 are vines, it represents a medium-large share of the South African wine market, being one of the oldest producers in the region. After having settled in Robertson with great pioneering spirit, the Burger family has owned the cellar for more than 150 years. The ownership effectively understands and enhances the potential of a territory that still today produces wines of great quality. The company stands as a reference for all the producers in the area, both for their knowledge of the soil, and for their very innovative wine-making practices. There are still some vineyards planted by the founder, Koos Burger, including one of Muscadet, planted in 1908, the oldest vineyard in South Africa.
